How to make bodyscrub: a great handmade gift

As you know, each month Tots100 and Center Parcs come up with a challenge designed to help you and your family explore nature, get creative and have fun! This month’s challenge, which gives you the chance to become a Center Parcs Family Blogger, Tots 100 Center Parcs Challenge focuses on relaxation  health and beauty.

The great thing about making your own ‘spa’ treatments is that the cost is very low and yet they look and smell amazing, so are perfect for gifts such as Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and Teacher’s Gifts.

how to make body scrubs at home

Take our Cinnamon Body Scrub

1/2 cup coconut oil

1/2 cup demerara sugar

1 tablespoon cinnamon

Warm the coconut oil to make it easier to mix: it has the consistency of Vaseline to start with. Then simply mix the three ingredients, put in a pretty jar and give to your nearest and dearest. Or whizz straight upstairs to the bathroom and treat yourself to an at-home spa.

Lavender Body Polish

shower gel

salt

Perfect for small children to make since it involves no heating and only two ingredients. Take your container and fill it 2/3 full with salt. Slowly add the shower gel, mixing as you go, until the salt is just damp. Leave to settle then cover the top in a thin layer of gel.

That’s it!  Add a little label and ribbon to your spa jars and you are ready for gift giving!

Once you’ve found time to relax just send a tweet including the hashtag #CPFamilyBreaks to @tots100 and @CenterParcsUK, linking to your blog post with the pics of your sanctuary and tips on how to create the experience, and you could win a family break with Center Parcs. This month’s challenge closes at 4pm on 25th January, so watch this space for inspiration and tips, coming soon! Please find the full terms and conditions for the challenge here.
