Decoupage Ikea Lazy Susan

Last time I was in Ikea, I bought a Lazy Susan. I’ve wanted one for years but DH has always turned me down but with mealtimes involving a lot more “Daddy, can you pass this? Mamma can you pass that? More ketchup please….” I worked on the basis that he would get over it. It looked a little functional for my liking- I’m never going to have a minimalist household am I?- so I decided it needed some attention.

So, I took some of my Doily Stash (you don’t have one? Really?) and a tub of Modge Podge and spent a quiet hour decoupaging. I’m really pleased with the results.

doilies over the edges

hold the Lazy Susan by the base when dealing with edges

Mod Podge the doilies onto the Lazy Susan

To make the edges easier to manage, leave the Mod Podge to soak into the doilies for a few moments, then gently 'encourage' them over the edges with a brush

finish with two coats of Mod Podge

I felt my the arrangement lacked something, so layered several doilies at the centre of the wheel. When you are happy with the result, finish with two layers of Mod Podge then leave to dry
