I am quite proud of this simple technique for making a snake bookmark. It’s perfect for a last minute handmade Father’s Day gift. Here’s how to make a snake bookmark from a tie.
All you will need is:
• One old tie (silk is best!)
• One marker pen
• Glue
• Scissors
2) Cut across the fabric lining and discard the fat end.
3) Trim the lining right up to the end of the seam of the narrow end, leaving just the silk frayed outer of the tie. You will need this scrap of lining later.
7) Using your glue stick the other end of the tongue to the reverse of the pointed tie-end.
8) From the scrap of lining you had left in point 3), draw and cut two circles. These will be the eyes.
9) Stick the circles to your snake and mark a pupil on them in felt tip.
10) Wedge inside a book and give to your Father for a great Father’s Day surprise.
Just dropping in form Just a party with My Peeps to check out this super cute snake:) This is just too cute, takes the whole idea of giving your Dad a tie to a new level. I would love to invite you to share this at Freedom Fridays. Hope to see you there!
PS I just signed up for RSS Feed:)
What a great idea 🙂 We may have to find some old ties and try this out 🙂
Thanks for sharing on this week’s Kid’s Co-Op 🙂
