We left this exciting tale of woeful customer service with DH’s bank using suspected fraud as a method of reclaiming the £400 deposit we had paid to the Useless Plumbing Co. in order to secure the services of Plumber-Without-Equal.
In a recent development DH received a call from the area manager for UPC regarding the service that we had received. After DH had vented his anger in splendid legalese, UPC Area Manager confessed that they had had a few ‘issues’ regarding PWE. It seems that he had allegedly disappeared, along with significant funds from UPC, and is currently ‘helping police with their enquiries’. Of course that doesn’t help with our plumbing issues, but Area Manager is at least refunding our deposit. Which we will use to pay someone else to fix the problem.
and I thought these things happened just to me! We had a bipolar decorator once – not an affliction to laugh at all but….on Monday he was fine, Tuesday he was singing Frere Jacques very loudly and on a loop, by Wednesday his brushes were “talking to him” and on Thursday his wife rang to say he was “in the Maudsley and can my son come and pick up his gear?”
