Shoo tar, don’t bother me!

When I emerged from the bedroom today I thought that the fairies had visited. The sad reality was that DH had unwittingly trampled tar through the house. I have written before on our unwise choice of carpet colour, and there’s nothing like tar to make you realise how naive you were to think that pale carpets would be easy enough to eep clean. Fortunately I grew up getting tar all over my shoes beach-combing and my mum passed on her tip for tar-removal (which was good because the local hardware store was of little help, unusually.) Two words: fly spray. I id you not. Spray it on, and scrub with a firm dry brush. Carpets look exactly as they did yesterday. I think it’ll take a little more than fly spray to make them look box fresh. Note to self: no pale carpets in the next house.
